DENET (International Research Network for Dark Energy) is a
core-to-core program funded by JSPS (Japan Society of Promotion of
Science) with French, British and US institutions for 2007-2012. The PI of
the program is Yasushi Suto at the University of Tokyo, and three
co-PI's include Edwin Turner at Princeton University, Jerome Martin at
Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris, and John Peacock at Royal
Observatory of Edinburgh.
DENET aims at promoting international collaboration on dark energy in
the universe, and indeed played a significant role in establishing the
next generation wide-field imaging camera, Hyper-Suprime Cam, on
Subaru telescope. Four international conferences on dark energy in the
universe have been hosted by DENET so far (Edinburgh in 2007, Hawaii in 2008, Princeton in 2009, and Caltech in 2010).
This final conference, "The accelerating Universe", will be held in IAP for 3 days (from October 24th to 26th, 2011) and will bring the program to a close. It will focus on observational and theoretical approaches
to understanding the accelerating universe. We will invite
world-experts on this field to give the recent developments, and
discuss future directions with particular emphasis on the
international collaboration with Subaru telescope. |
| Format
The conference will include invited talks and contributed talks. |
