================================================================================ The file nebular_emission_gutkin16.tar.gz in this directory contains the values of some of the most commonly used optical and ultraviolet emission-lines predicted by models of nebular emission from star-forming galaxies (presented in Gutkin et al. 2016). These models have been computed combining the latest version of the stellar population synthesis code of Bruzual & Charlot (2003; Charlot & Bruzual, in preparation) with the latest version of the photoionization code CLOUDY (Ferland et al. 2013) ================================================================================ For further details about the model parameters, please see: Gutkin, J., Charlot, S., Bruzual, G. 2016, MNRAS, in press (astro-ph/...) ================================================================================ ******************************************************************************** *********************** DESCRIPTION OF MODEL FILES ***************************** ******************************************************************************** ******************************************************************************** nebular_emission_gutkin16.tar.gz contains 14 files, each corresponding to given value of the interstellar gas metallicity Zism, specifically: Zism= 0.0001, 0.0002, 0.0005, 0.001, 0.002, 0.004, 0.006, 0.008, 0.010, 0.014, 0.017, 0.020, 0.030, 0.040 The file names are built as follows: nebular_emission_Zaaa.txt, where aaa are the digits after the decimal point of the value of the interstellar gas metallicity, for example: nebular_emission_Z017.txt corresponds to Zism=0.017 Each model file contains 23 columns: col.1: log(Us), logarithmic value of the ionization parameter col.2: xid, dust-to-metal mass ratio col.3: nh, hydrogen gas density (per cubic cm) col.4: (C/O)/(C/O)sol, carbon-to-oxygen abundance ratio in units of the solar value, (C/O)sol=0.44 col.5: mup, upper mass cutoff of the IMF cols 6-23: predicted intensities of 18 optical and ultraviolet emission lines (in units of solar bolometric luminosity [3.826E+33] per unit SFR [in Mo/yr]) for constant SFR with a Chabrier (2003) IMF sustained for 10^8 yr, specifically: [OII]3727 Hbeta [OIII]4959 [OIII]5007 [NII]6548 Halpha [NII]6584 [SII]6717 [SII]6731 NV1240 CIV1548 CIV1551 HeII1640 OIII]1661 OIII]1666 [SiIII]1883 SiIII]1888 CIII]1908 Please contact gutkin@iap.fr and charlot@iap.fr if you require predictions for other emission lines
