« Loop quantum black holes and their effective description » |
Juan-Carlos del Águila |
Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG), one of the main proposals that attempt to provide a quantum description of gravity, has yielded interesting results in simple cosmological models. Namely, the replacement of the classical space-time singularity corresponding to the Big Bang by a "quantum bounce". This conclusion has also been extended to the interior of the Schwarzschild black hole, removing thus the singularity predicted by General Relativity. However it still remains to be seen if singularity evasion is a general feature of LQG. In this context, the loop quantization of spherically symmetric models acquires great relevance since it allows to explore a wider class of space-times. In this talk the basic concepts needed to describe the Schwarzschild geometry within the theory will be discussed. Effective models, seen as modified gravity theories that include loop quantum effects, shall be of particular interest. Finally, recent results regarding black holes in effective loop spherical geometry will also be mentioned. |
