« Candidate cosmic filament in the GJ526 field mapped with the NIKA2 camera »

Distinctive large scale structures have been well identified in the spatial distribution of optical galaxies up to redshift of about 1. In the more distant universe, the relationship between the population of the Dust-obscured Star Forming Galaxies (DSFG's) observed at millimeter wavelengths and the network of cosmic filaments of dark matter apparent in all cosmological hydrodynamical simulations is still under study.
Using the NIKA2 dual band millimeter camera installed on the IRAM 30m radiotelescope, we mapped a field of 90 arcminutes^2 in the direction of the star GJ526 in the 1.15 and 2.0 mm continuum wavebands for a circumstellar disk program. Unexpectedly, in the new map, we found a total of seven DSFG's distributed in projection on the sky along a filament-like structure crossing the whole observed field.
In the talk, we shall present the NIKA2 maps and discuss the additional information (SED and spatial gauges) that support our hypothesis that this structure may be a cosmic filament crossing the mapped field at least 4 cMpc (comoving) in length. However, further observations to determine the precise spectroscopic redshifts of these DSFG's are required to conclusively support this hypothesis of DSFG's embedded in a cosmic filament of dark matter.
