« Translating pixels into cosmology for Kilo Degree Survey -1000 »

Robust measurement of cosmological parameters using cosmic-shear requires carefully translating pixelised information into cosmological signals. As with all modern cosmology, this process requires careful consideration of a multitude of systematic effects. I will overview the considerable effort that has been invested into the understanding, modelling, and mitigation of systematics effects in KiDS-1000 cosmic shear analysis, with a particular focus on the calibration of galaxy redshift distributions; arguably the most uncertain and influential systematic effect present in stage-III cosmic shear surveys.
