We are interested Bayesian statistics for the study of the Spectral
Energy Distributions of galaxies. After an introduction to galaxy SED fitting, I will present a new robust Importance Sampling algorithm and its use for Bayesian SED fitting in the context of complete statistical model using both photometric and spectroscopic data. I will then introduce simulation based inference and Approximate Bayesian Computation (ABC) methods, with a model choice application to detect recent variations in galaxy Star Formation History in the COSMOS survey. |
