"Testing the nature of dark compact objects with gravitational waves"

Paolo Pani
Univ. Rome La Sapienza (Rome, Italie)

Gravitational wave astronomy allows us for unprecedented tests of the nature of dark compact objects to search for new exotic species of compact objects. I will give an overview, focusing on some recent results, including ringdown tests, gravitational-wave echoes, inspiral tests of the multipolar structure of supermassive objects, tests of the Kerr bound on the spin with extreme-mass ratio inspirals, and tidal effects.
