"Conservation and evolution of nonlinear cosmological perturbations"

I will present a formalism to study the conservation and evolution of nonlinear perturbations in cosmology, based on a covariant and fully non-perturbative approach. I will show how this formalism unifies different approaches derived in linear perturbation theory and extends them to higher order in the perturbations. The formalism allows to define non-perturbative quantities which are conserved at all scales, and when applied to scalar fields, can be employed to study the generation of non-Gaussianities during inflation.
