| The enrichment of the intergalactic medium with heavy elements provides us with a fossil record of past star formation and a unique laboratory to study galactic feedback processes. I will present recent results from observational and theoretical studies of intergalactic heavy elements. I will discuss which findings are likely to be robust, what "accepted wisdom" might be in need of revision, and what the outstanding questions are. |
