« Primordial non-Gaussianity: where do we stand? »

Sabino Matarrese

Primordial deviations of cosmological perturbations from a simple Gaussian distribution are not only possible but fairly generic if the generating mechanism for the fluctuations was inflation. Constraining and/or detecting primordial Non-Gaussianity therefore proves as powerful novel tool to explore the properties of the Universe at its birth.

I will review both the theoretical aspects related to the generation of non-Gaussian perturbations and the various ways to constrain their properties via the Cosmic Microwave Background anisotropies and the Large-Scale Structure of the Universe.
