Lectures of the IAP

The IAP organises lectures on topics related to research in astrophysics. These courses are designed for PhD students, post-docs and researchers, and are aimed at non-specialists. Lectures are open to all interested researchers and are conducted in English, in the Henri Mineur amphitheater. Each series of lectures includes 5 or 6 two-hour-long sessions.

The three themes proposed in 2016-2017 are:

  • Gravity : Newtonian, post-Newtonian, Relativistic, by Clifford Will (Inst. Fundamental Theory, Univ. Florida, USA)
  • Physics of core-collapse supernovae, by Thierry Foglizzo (Lab. Modélisation Plasmas Astrophysiques, IRFU, CEA-Saclay, France)
  • Standard model of particle physics, by Patrick Peter (IAP)
