Every month on a Tuesday, since more than 20 years, the IAP organizes conferences open to the public.
The programme of conferences is set up by Florence Durret, Guillaume Hébrard, and Daniel Kunth.
We will post the program of the next conferences on this page. You can also follow us on social networks: Twitter and Facebook.
Attendance is free of charge, but you must make a reservation. Theses conferences are usually held in our amphitheater, except a few that take place at the Farabeuf amphitheater (see programme below).
Reservations for the up-coming conferences can only be made the day after the latest conference was held. Forms to sign up are available below the public conferences’ titles.
The doors open at 6:30 pm, and the conferences start at 7.30 pm.
Personnal belongings will from now on be visually inspected. Those who will not accept this inspection will not be allowed to enter the building. We therefore kindly ask you not to arrive after 7:15 pm.
The conferences are video recorded and live streamed on our Youtube channel, and visible online on Canal-U, after one week or so.
By clicking on the title of each conference, you can access their video recording and read the summaries for conferences to come. For conferences before 2015, the videos were recorded together with the CERIMES and are visble online here.
In 2013, a series of monthly conferences entitled “Le ciel entre science et religions” (The Sky: between science and religion), jointly organized by the École Pratique des Hautes Études (IESR-EPHE) and the IAP, was also open to the public on the IAP premises. More information here.
The short film made by Jean Mouette, celebrating (in french only) the 20th anniversary of these conferences is visible on Canal-U Web TV.
