High energy astrophysics and early Universe

BBN Nucleosynthesis

Presentation of the group

Responsable : Frédéric DAIGNE

The research team “Cosmology and High Energy Astrophysics” (COSMOH) is involved in the study of astrophysical sources of high energy radiation, especially gamma-ray bursts and quasars, and the use of these bright objects as tracers of the distant Universe.
Our theoretical activities follow two main directions:
– Modelling astrophysical sources of high-energy radiation.
– Cosmology: big-bang nucleosynthesis (BBN) and the cosmic evolution of baryons.
Our observational activities are various :
–Search and study of sources at high redshift.
– Spectroscopy of distant sources to study gas along the line of sight.
